Electroformed Copper is a specialised process that uses electric current to deposit thick layers of copper onto conductive surfaces, including non-metallic items like crystals leaves or plastic, to create durable, detailed and artistic three dimensional objects.
These Ginkgo leaves are from my own tree, and were given to an artist to create this gorgeous pair of earrings set with faceted labradorite gemstones.
Labradorite is an iridescent feldspar, which flashes colours of purple, blue, green, gold and pink. Labradorite is suggested to strengthen intuition, fostering deep personal growth and shielding the aura from negativity.
Ginkgo biloba, is the oldest living fossil on earth, a sole survivor of an ancient group of trees that existed before dinosaurs. It is a symbol of longevity, resilience and hope.
Length 4.7 to 4.9 cm including bale - width 2.2 to 2.5 cm
Note, as these earrings are made with an organic material, there are slight differences in size and shape of each leaf. All care is taken to create a pair that is closely matched.
