Our regeneration work takes place on Djandak ( Dja Dja Wurrung Country ). We recognise the Djaara people as the Traditional Owners and committed to a partnership founded on mutual respect and self-determination. Our approach to local environment and tree-growing aims to align with the Dhelkunya Dja Country Plan, particularly the Galk-galk Dhelkunya ( Forest Gardening ) Strategy, which seeks to care for and heal many trees for future generations.

We pledge to uphold the principles of Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC) in all our activities and to respect the Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP) of the Djaara people. We believe that true regeneration is only possible when we walk together to restore the health of Country.

Bald Hills-Creswick Landcare Group

Eucalyptus yarraensis, Yarra gums, are a critically endangered species. Stands of these trees were heavily harvested during early gold rushes in the region. The Landcare group has pledged to source seed from the remaining trees and genetics to enhance the population of this species.

Platypus conservation in Clunes, Victoria, is centred around the protection and monitoring of the population living in Creswick Creek.

Pollinator Projects

Pollinators, including native bees, birds, insects and mammals, are vital to Australian ecosystems by facilitating the reproduction of over 95% of native flowering plants. They ensure plant genetic diversity, produce seeds and fruit, and support agricultural production while sustaining biodiversity across forests and bushland.

Trees planted

Weed identified and soil restored, seed spent and carried with the wind. Lightening positively charges the air and water brings it all to life.

Current Projects

May 2026 - Beginning of a new site where the Hakea salicifolia was selected as the ‘Hero’ plant to feature as a vibrant centrepiece, offering nectar and habitat for birds, bees and butterflies. The eventual size is important as it will add a wind break from both northerly and southerly winds in this location. We’ve started to remove the weedy grass from around the old tree trunk that appears to have been lost during a previous bush fire event some decades ago. Now to get some seed raised of local grasses and smaller flowering shrubs. The Hakea tubestock was purchased from a local grower nearby at our weekend farmers market.

The Pollinator Project

Bald Hills - Creswick Landcare Group

May 2026 - Working along the Creswick Creek. 1600 native grasses and water tolerant shrubs planted, all grown by local growers. Landcare and community members made quick work of the planting, in time for winter rain forecast.

This is an example of the great work community does to restore and increase good biodiversity in their region, and increasingly, with less funding opportunities. This tree planting activity was approved by North Central Catchment Management Authority and funded by a Hepburn Shire Biodiversity Grant.

All Natural Fibres, are aware of the substantial decrease in funding opportunities for grass roots community groups and wish to act as a bridge, through the generosity of others, to source funds, and continue this great work in the restoration of the local environment.

Eucalyptus tree, possibly a Creswick Apple Box - Eucalyptus aromaphloia. Its huge and hasn't flowered for past few years. Looks like it is forming fruit bodies now so fingers crossed. Endemic to Victoria Australia.
Verdict still out on this one, possibly Manna Gum - Eucalyptus viminalis. Central Victoria, Australia.
